Reports of various options being weighed in the ruling BJP camp on the leadership issue coupled with news of the ruling dispensation favouring mid-term polls has raised many an eyebrow amongst the coalition partners, with the Goa Forward leadership saying the party will seek a clarification from State BJP president Vinay Tendulkar on the news doing the rounds in the State in the last two days.
Goa Forward Supremo and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai further asserted that nobody should try to make an opportunity out of an adversity against the backdrop of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar falling sick and undergoing treatment in a foreign country. “Goa Forward has taken cognisance of news of the reported talks within the ruling party on the leadership issue and mid-term polls. I have nothing to say, but I will certainly ask BJP President Vinay Tendulkar to clear the air of uncertainty caused by the reports of leadership issue being debated by the BJP”, Sardesai told The Goan.
He said the stand of the Goa Forward party is clear from day one and there is no change in the party stand that the party had extended support to Manohar Parrikar as the Chief Minister. “The leadership issue cannot be debated at this stage when the Chief Minister is undergoing treatment. I am not a politician who will take advantage of an adversity”, he said, while apparently trying to send across a message loud and clear to the leadership of the major coalition partner that nobody
