Villagers seek details on Kesarval Spring project

VASCO

Quelossim villagers on Sunday sought more details and plans for the Kesarval Spring rejuvenation project in the village.

The issue of the project came up during the Gram Sabha at the Quelossim panchayat on Sunday.

While the Gram Sabha discussed and heated up on many issues, major concerns included clarity on the Kesarval Spring rejuvenation project, providing traditional access for fishermen and farmers on the Mini India Park project site, and garbage management in the village.

Speaking to the media, Quelossim Sarpanch Fransisco Figueredo said that the issue of the Mini India Park project in the village was in court, and therefore, no decision could be taken on the matter.

“We had a proposal for the Kesarval Spring rejuvenation project, and we have told MLA Anton Vas to provide us with the full detailed plans, drawings, and the nature of the works that will be taken up for this project. We have requested him to take the panchayat into confidence and then start the work on the project after providing us with the details. We have also discussed the traditional access issue of the Mini India Park project site, but the matter is in court, and hence we cannot discuss or resolve the issue,” said Figueredo.

“As far as the garbage issue is concerned, we collect wet and dry garbage, but there is some issue in the disposal of the garbage. We have now decided that we will take a meeting with the Garbage Management Committee and try to resolve the issue by finding a solution,” Figueredo added.
