War of words between GF and RGP intensifies

MARGAO
The war of words between Goa Forward and the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has further intensified in the run up to the May 7 Lok Sabha polls.

Taking strong objection to Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai for giving a tagline for the RGP as “Mercenaries”, RGP MLA Viresh Borkar on Thursday termed Sardesai as a “kattappa” a traitor, who had backstabbed the Congress in the 2017 Assembly election and instrumental in bringing the BJP to power when the people of Goa had voted out the saffron government.

In fact, Borkar cautioned the Congress to beware of Sardesai’s machination, saying the Goa Forward chief, who is a member of the INDIA bloc, has not spoken against BJP South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo till date. “Sardesai has given the RGP a tagline that members of the party are mercenaries. I would like to tell the Fatorda MLA that we are not working for money. It is Sardesai who had backstabbed the Congress party in 2017 to bring the BJP to power,” he said.

He added: “The Goa Forward chief initially stated that he has supported the BJP to bring Parrikar to power. But, he continued to support the BJP even after Parrikar’s demise.”
