Water supply to Usgao-Ganje residents was restored on Sunday morning after being dry for three days.
The Public Works Department (PWD) had been warned by angry villagers that they would halt work on the new 25 MLD water treatment plant if the water was not turned back on by Sunday.
Ganje village, located along the Mhadei River, experiences water shortages every monsoon. After three days without water, the villagers protested on Saturday, threatening to stop the new treatment plant’s construction if their water supply was not resumed.
As a result, the PWD restarted the water supply on Sunday morning.
