In an interesting development, a joint meeting of members of the Wholesale Fish Market Association and retail fish vendors has been convened at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, on Wednesday.
While President of the Wholesale Fish Market Association, M Ibrahim, said the meeting will chalk out the future course of action, it assumes significance as it comes on the eve of the planned stoppage of import of fish from across the border from November 1 by the wholesale fish agents.
The association had also asked the Chief Secretary to invite the wholesale fish traders for discussions to resolve the issue.
