The Colva police have arrested Vaishnavi Sidnal for the alleged murder of her husband, Vishwanath Sidnal. The 35-year-old labourer from Karnataka was discovered deceased in a rented room yesterday morning, lying in a pool of blood. Police suspect the crime could be a result of an alleged extramarital affair.
Vishwanath was residing in the rented premises with his wife and daughter for the past three years.
The incident came to light when his mother, residing in Mungul, raised concern when Vishwanath failed to reply to her calls since Monday morning.
The local police, on visiting the place, broke open the door and found him in a pool of blood.
South Goa Superintendent of Police Sunita Sawant revealed about the arrest stating the Colva police had registered a case of murder based on a complaint filed by the victim's father. The accused will be interrogated to get the exact cause of the murder, weapon used for the crime, etc.
Colva Police Inspector, Satish Padvalkar is conducting further investigations.
