For, the 25-odd Comunidade employees have been anxiously waiting for the government to release their salaries for the last 12 months, with the previous Laxmikant Parsekar government as well as the new dispensation headed by Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar defaulting to clear the salary payments.
While the beleaguered employees had pinned their hopes on Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar, Revenue Minister, Rohan Khaunte and TCP Minister and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai to step in and release their salaries, pending since last year, the ground reality has not changed for the better for these employees.
Their plea to the Goa Human Rights Commission has also not yielded any positive results for these employees, who have been working without salaries for the last one year.
"This is the 12 month in running since we have not received our salaries. During these 12 months, the government had utilized our services for various works including election work, but our salaries have not been forthcoming till date", lamented an employee.
The employees now plan to call on these Ministers with a plea to release their salaries since they have been facing a terrible time to look after their families, including school going children. "It's not the question of one or two months, but 12 months now since the government have not paid us our salaries", remarked another employee.

With exactly a month to go when Goans will celebrate Gansesh Chaturthi on August 25, beleaguered employees of South Goa Administrator of Comunidades are again keeping their fingers crossed whether they will receive their salaries on time to celebrate the festival.
