Will convince owners not to sell Tito’s: Lobo

MAPUSA

Stating that he will convince co-owner, Ricardo D’Souza, not to sell Club Tito’s, Ports Minister Michael Lobo on Tuesday said the government will take action against those who have harassed D’Souza if he was willing to reveal names.

“Ricardo is my friend. If anyone has harassed him, he should disclose the names. We will take action against them,” Lobo said while reacting to reports that the owners have sold the iconic Club Tito’s and all their businesses in the State.

The ports minister further informed that he had advised D’Souza not to act in haste and sell his business which he founded and nurtured for more than three decades.

“Even if there was some need for the owners to sell the business, they should retain a majority stake in the business with them,” he said.

He said that he would meet D’Souza very soon and convince him not to sell the entertainment business.

On Monday, D’Souza dropped a bombshell while announcing that the family has sold Club Tito’s and entire business in Goa.

In a post on his Facebook page, he blamed some government officials for harassment for the ultimate decision.

A well-known brand in the entertainment business nationally and globally, Club Tito’s had carved a name for itself and was synonymous with Goa’s party and nightlife.
