MAPUSA
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Saturday assured traders at the Mapusa market that her party would provide relief from inflation if her party was elected to power in the State.
She was addressing the traders during her short visit to the Mapusa market and was accompanied by TMC National Vice President Luizinho Faleiro, tennis star and newly TMC member Leander Paes, Adv. Satish Naik, Swati Kerkar, Priya Rathod and other party officials.
"The dadagiri of this BJP government will not be tolerated. Inflation and ever increasing fuel prices have destroyed the common man. I promise the TMC will give people relief from inflation if our party is elected to power,’ said Banerjee, while hitting out at the central and State governments.
Meanwhile, some supporters of some organisations protested against Banerjee by shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans near the Maruti temple.
