As the stage is set for the return of the Margao carnival float parade back to its old route from Holy Spirit Church-Margao Municipal square route on February 19, the Traffic police have decided to shut the entire stretch of road from Old Market Circle to Margao Municipal Council-SBI, Margao for all types of vehicular traffic except floats and emergency vehicles.
The Traffic police, Margao has informed that vehicular traffic coming to Margao city from the Railway overbridge will be diverted from behind MMC Margao/Cine Lata road-Margao Residency “Saaj Hotel-Minguel Loyola Furtado road- ring road-BSNL/ Comba railway gate-Woodland Hotel-GV Niketan-Abade Faria road for their onward journey.
All Borda-bound vehicular traffic coming into Margao city will be diverted at Euric Silva house via Dambab circle, Fatorda for their onward journey.
Further, all the traffic coming from KTC Margao, Colva to proceed at Margao city will be diverted at Old Market Circle to proceed via Fatorda/ Ring road for their onward Journey.
The route buses coming from Ponda/ Raia towards Margao will be diverted at Arlem junction to proceed via Nuvem Bypass/ Eastern Bypass towards KTC Margao.
All the Ponda/ Raia/ Shiroda bound buses leaving from KTC Margao/ Old Bus Stand Margao will be diverted at KTC Margao/ Old Market Circle to proceed towards Nuvem Bypass Junction “ Arlem Junction and onwards respectively.
All the floats participating in the parade will be lined at Holy Spirit Church road, Margao.
The vehicles of spectators coming to witness the floats parade will be parked near JMFC court garden, Old Hospicio Hospital lane, behind MMC open space, Old bus stand Margao, pickup stand, Margao, and BPS Sports club.
The traffic police has also announced road closure and diversion on February 19. The road will be closed near Old Market Circle on Holy spirit Road: wherein no vehicles will be allowed to proceed towards Margao city.
At Euric Silva house too, no vehicle will be allowed to proceed towards Margao city. Similarly, behind MMC Margao, all types of vehicular traffic will be diverted from behind MMC Margao-Margao Residency “Saaj Hotel-Woodland Hotel-GV Niketan-Abade Faria road for their onward journey.
Additional traffic diversions will be effected as per the requirement within the jurisdiction.
No parking zones have been announced on the road from Holy Spirit Church, Margao to MMC Margao, SBI, Margao on February 19 from 08.00 hrs till the conclusion of the carnival float parade.
The above diversion will be effective from 01.00 pm on February 19, 2023, (Sunday) and will remain in force till the float parade is over.
