Barely a day after a woman was fiercely attacked by three men near Margao railway station, another woman was subjected to similar brutality in the Anjuna tourist village.
The 32-year-old victim, hailing from Rajasthan was beaten up and even molested when she entered a shop to fetch a parcel on Tuesday evening. Two accused identified as Raj Shinde (28); and Nauman alias Kavesh Saberi (23), native of Chhattisgarh were soon arrested by the local police.
“While she was returning with the parcel, the suspects in a four-wheeler intercepted her near a restaurant, molested and beat her. They also hurled abuses at her and escaped from the crime scene. The woman sustained injuries in the attack as she was pushed and even thrown on the ground. She has been given medical attention and upon her complaint, the driver and the occupant are booked and arrested,” the Anjuna police said.
The accused are booked under sections 354 (outrage modesty), 509 (insulting modesty of a woman), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) read with section 34 (common intention) of IPC.
