Woman dies of burn injuries at Mardol

A married woman hailing from West Bengal and residing at Mardol is reported to have died of burn injuries, while lighting a kerosene stove last week.

The person is identified as Chumki Mandal and was living in rented premises at Mardol with her husband and their 8-year-old son.

Police said the incident had occurred at Mardol on December 6, when she had repaired the stove and was lighting it. She sustained burn injuries and was rushed to Sub District Hospital at Ponda, from where she was shifted to GMC for treatment, where she breathed her last on Monday.
