MARGAO: In an interesting development, the black and yellow taxis operating from the railway stations and other places have decided to resume their operations from Thursday.
The decision has been taken after representatives of the black and yellow taxis association's held discussions with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday evening.
Leader of the black and yellow taxis association operating from the Margao railway station, Sandeep Arlekar informed that the black and yellow taxis will resume their operations from Thursday.
Arlekar told The Goan that they have told the Chief Minister that they will not join GoaMiles and will do their business as usual from the prepaid counter. He, however, said the black and yellow taxis have vehemently objected to the presence of GoaMiles taxis parked outside the Margao railway station.
The black and yellow taxi operators had accused the GoaMiles drivers of approaching the railway passengers with the App pamphlet before taking them to their destinations during the last six days of the ongoing agitation.
Sources said the black and yellow taxi operators have extracted an assurance that the GoaMiles taxis will not be allowed to park just outside the railway station.
