VALPOI
Mahadev Soma Vandekar, 22, of Hivare Sattari died in a head-on collision between a tempo and a scooter at Koparde on the Valpoi-Thane highway around 12 noon on Sunday.
It is learned that Mahadev was traveling from Valpoi to Thane on a scooter, while HP Gas cylinder tempo was coming from Thane.
The two collided head-on at a turn at Koparde. Mahadev took a hit on the head and died on the spot. He suffered severe head injuries and heavy bleeding.
Upon receiving the information, the Valpoi police immediately rushed to the spot and conducted a panchnama. Medical officials declared the youth dead after he was rushed to the CHC Valpoi in a 108 ambulance.
