A 28-year-old youth from Sodiem-Siolim, identified as Jawito Ghadamudi, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Bambolim, following a self-accident late on February 3.
According to police, the accident occurred around 11.30 pm when Jawito was returning home via the Cunchelim-Teen Maad road.
Near the government primary school, he reportedly lost control of his two-wheeler and crashed into a compound wall. The impact caused him to hit his head on a stone, rendering him unconscious.
Passers-by immediately rushed the injured youth to a local hospital before he was shifted to GMC for further treatment.
However, on Wednesday morning, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care.
After completing necessary formalities, police handed over the body to the family for final rites.
Mapusa police have registered a case of accidental death and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
