ZP: BJP releases second list of candidates

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa Unit on Tuesday released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections. The names were finalised by the BJP State Election Committee and include contenders for both North and South Goa. The party has announced releasing balance list soon. CM Pramod Sawant also began campaigning for the polls by offering prayers at Laxminarayan Devasthan, Navelim“Sanquelim.

PANAJIOnly one candidate has filed papers for the December 20 Zilla Panchayat elections during the first two days of the nomination process.As per the information provided by the State Election Commission (SEC), while no nominations were received on the first day- December 1, Independent candidate John Beda Pedro Pereira filed his nomination from Velim ZP constituency in South.The last date for filing the nominations is December 9.
