Zuarinagar hit-and-run case accused found driving without licence

A hit-and-run incident occurred near Tari Hotel in Zuarinagar at around 7:30 PM on 9th October, where a pedestrian was severely injured after being struck by a Wagon-R car.

The vehicle, driven by K. Karthik from Bellary, Karnataka, was reportedly operated without a valid driving licence. Karthik is accused of driving recklessly in a rash and negligent manner and endangering human lives while heading towards Vasco.  

The victim, Bhaskar Singh, a resident of Jharkhand, was walking along the side of the road when the car hit him. Singh sustained grievous injuries and was immediately rushed to GMC Bambolim, where he is currently undergoing treatment.  

Adding to the severity of the situation, the accused driver fled the scene without offering any medical assistance to the injured pedestrian or notifying the police about the incident.  

Verna Police have registered a case under sections 281 and 125(b) of the BNS and sections 3, 134(a) & (b) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The case is currently under investigation by Head Constable Siddesh Dessai of Verna Police Station.
