Police investigating the triple suicide of a migrant family at Zuarinagar claimed to have recovered a suicide note in the house on Wednesday.
In a related development, a police official denied allegations that the Verna police had harassed the deceased and assured that the investigation was on right track and facts in the case would soon come to light.
Sources said the suicide note was written in Kannada and on translation revealed that the deceased had written names of some people and police suspect some of these names to be of their family members.
"We have recovered a suicide note and we will soon get more clarity on the motive for the suicide. As of now, it appears there are many names on the suicide note, who could be the relatives of the three persons who committed suicide. We suspect that these people could have been harassing the deceased leading them to commit suicide," said the source.
"We also suspect that the deceased may have been harassed over a piece of land or some money angle. We are thoroughly investigating all angles and we will soon get more clarity in this issue," said the source.
Another source informed that the suicide note was translated with the help of two Kannada teachers and there were references of Sultanpur village, as well as money, property, some gold ornaments and distribution of their money and property to their children in the suicide note.
