'Vision Canacona 2030' got a boost in the taluka, with nodal officers from as many as 52 departments attending the first meeting chaired by Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar to deliberate on various issues in Canacona.
Addressing the 49 nodal officers and three department heads at Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College at Delem, Tawadkar guided the participating officers in implementing recommendations, suggestions and proposals. Tawadkar specifically touched on fishermen's woes, technical education, highway concept and providing relief and assistance to homeless families.
Director of Higher Education Vijay Kamat, Director of Art and Culture Sagun Velip, Canacona Dy Collector/SDO Ramesh Gaonkar, the executive engineer (electricity) and Canacona DySP (SDPO) were among those present at the meeting.
The officers were told that 18 committees are appointed at a public meeting on June 4 and a joint meeting with the respective committees and nodal officers would be convened next fortnight.
Tawadkar informed the officers that suggestions and proposals would be put forth by the respective committees, while the implementation would be the task of the bureaucracy.
The meeting with the officers was coordinated by Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College Principal Dr Manoj Kamat.
