In a tragic accident, two teenagers were killed when their bike collided with a bus near the BITS Pilani, College Sancoale on Sunday evening.
A woman pedestrian also suffered injuries in the accident.
The two youth -- one from Sada and the other from Bogda Vasco -- were riding a KTM bike and were moving from MES College towards Verna.
According to information provided by Deputy Superintendent of Police Salim Shaikh the two teenagers have been identified as Akhilesh Gawas (18) from Bogda and Gautam Keluskar (19) from Sada.
The accident occurred when the bus (GA08-V-1383) which was also moving in the same direction as that of the teenagers, took a sudden U-turn near the BITS Pilani College, resulting in a direct collision with the bike.
While one of the teens died on the spot, the other died while he was being shifted to the sub-district hospital. A lady pedestrian who was in the vicinity also suffered injuries with her leg being fractured after the bike hit her.
The injured lady was later shifted to Goa Medical College for treatment. Verna police is further investigating the case.
