In its report titled ‘Emerging hotspots for Goa’, the Department of Preventive Social Medicines of Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim has listed 206 emerging Covid-19 hotspots across the state. The latest finding by the Department of PSM identified 19 high-risk areas in the state with a massive infectivity and virulence quotient. The areas in North Goa include Corlim Industrial Estate, Tisca, Alto Betim, Fontainhas, Parra, Carona, Miramar, Anjuna, Baga, Usgao and the areas in South Goa, Shiroda, Sanguem, Quela, Zuarinagar, Quepem, Cuncolim, Onda, Durbhat and Verna.
The report also states that the coastal belt has major hotspots.
