The State topped the list of 16 states in the country with the highest positivity rate in the country, as per the data revealed by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
The Health Ministry expressed serious concern about the uncontrolled spread of coronavirus in the country and disclosed the data submitted by Indian Council of Medical Research based on its findings during the week from April 26 to May 2.
During this week, Goa’s average positivity rate stood at 48 per cent. Haryana, which was the second on the list, had an average daily positivity rate of 37 per cent and West Bengal followed with 33 per cent.
Delhi (32 per cent), Pudducherry (30 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (29 per cent), Chattisgarh (29 per cent), Karnataka (28 per cent), Chandigarh (26 per cent), Maharashtra (24 per cent), Odisha (23 per cent), Andhra Pradesh (23 per cent), Sikkim (23 per cent), Kerala (22 per cent) and Himachal Pradesh (20 per cent) are the other states contributing to the flood of new Covid cases recorded every day in the country during the ongoing second wave of the pandemic.
