In good news for Goans availing benefit under social welfare schemes of the government, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said the government will disburse Rs 141 crore to the beneficiaries as a Chaturthi gift by August 29.
“Goa government will disburse stipend under social welfare schemes to the tune of Rs 141 crore by Monday as a Chaturthi gift to the people of the State”, Sawant said.
The stipend and other benefits relate to various government schemes like Dayanand Niradhar Scheme, Griha Aadhar scheme, tribal, animal husbandry, agriculture etc which will be deposited in the accounts of over 3.40 lakh beneficiaries on Friday and Monday.
Sawant also said he held a review meeting with heads of concerned departments and instructed them to release the stipend.
“This is a Chaturthi gift from the government to the people of Goa. Griha Aadhar beneficiaries will get Rs 4,500 in their account to clear the backlog of last three months”, he said.
