CANACONA
The three-day ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign may have ended on August 15, but the electricity department continues to hoist the tricolour day and night atop its sub-office in Agonda.
According to sources, the flag affixed to a wooden rod, was hoisted on the terrace sometime during the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign between August 13 to 15.
It has not been removed since then, though people were advised to respectfully take down the flags by 7 pm on August 15.
Incidentally, the building housing the electricity sub-office belongs to the Agonda Panchayat and the panchayat office is located next to the electricity sub-office.
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign had encouraged people to hoist the national flag in their homes from August 13 to 15 to mark the 75th year of India’s independence, and while the campaign ended on August 15, those who displayed the Indian flag were asked to bring them down after Independence Day.
