A three-and-half year-old girl, who fell into a 32-feet deep well at Karaswadda-Mapusa, died late Monday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Zoya Ahmed.
Mapusa Police informed that the incident happened at around 7.45 pm.
According to available information, the girl along with other neighbouring kids was playing with a ball in an open space outside when the ball suddenly travelled a little further and fell in a well nearby. The kid reportedly climbed up on the barrier of the well in search of the ball but slipped and fell into it.
The other kids who saw the incident reported it to the girl’s parents who then raised an alarm.
After getting information, Mapusa fire station personnel rushed to the spot and retrieved the girl from the 32 feet deep well and promptly provided medical aid in a bid to revive the girl.
Fire Officer Dnyaneshwar Sawant informed that there was at least 16-feet water inside the well.
She was then rushed to the North Goa District Hospital, Mapusa where she was declared brought dead. Further investigation is on.
