BELAGAVI
Amboli police have arrested four persons from the city who were accused of illegally transporting nine cattle. The police have seized a truck and a car from them and all the cattle were sent to the Go Shala at Shikeri-Bicholim in Goa.
According to information received from police, a cargo truck full of cattle was coming to Karnataka via Sawantwadi-Amboli route on Sunday. A car accompanied the cargo truck.
When the truck was checked at Amboli check post, as many as 9 bullocks were found to have been transported.
Amboli police arrested four youths from Belagavi along with two vehicles under Maharashtra Animal Protection Act 2015, Prohibition of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960, Maharashtra Police Act Section 119, Motor Vehicle Act Section-184.
The accused are Saifali Ayubhussain Madiwale (30) of Peeranwadi-Belagavi, Adnan Ramzan Bepari (23) of Camp-Belagavi, Navid Ali Khan Mohammad Alikhan Pathan (32) of Peeranwadi-Belagavi, and Isa Bahuddin Bepari (23) of Market Street, Belagavi. Police informed that a criminal case has been registered against the accused.
