Mapusa police arrested four youths from Telangana for allegedly sporting a police sticker on their car while returning to their State after celebrating New Year in Goa.
The four suspects, T Vijay Bharat Kalyan (23), M Vinod Kumar (24), K Shivshankar (23) and M Bharat Kumar (24), were travelling to Telangana on Thursday afternoon.
The youth had lost their way in the Aldona market and asked the locals to help them find the right direction. The suspects had stuck a ‘police’ sticker on their car. The car was registered in Telangana, and as the youth did not look like the police, the locals stopped the car and confronted the youth.
Mapusa police were informed of the incident and they took the youth to the police station. During the enquiry, police confirmed that the youth were not police.
The youth had arrived in Goa on December 31 and had stayed in a hotel at Calangute. The police arrested all four youths under the Section 41 IPC and seized the car. Mapusa police are investigating the case.
