41 nominations filed in Canacona

As many as 41 nominations were filed in all seven panchayats going to polls in Canacona taluka, on a day considered auspicious in the Hindu calendar.

Nominations were filed in Khola (5), Agonda (4), Shristhal (2), Gaondongrim (3), Khotigao (2), Poinguinim (14) and Loliem-Polem (11), taking the number of nominations to 51, which includes six candidates who submitted two sets of nominations.
Many candidates are expected to file nominations on Saturday and the last day (Monday), given that these two days are also considered auspicious.
