Around 52 Covid patients are presently convalescing at the South Goa district hospital as on Thursday.
Sources informed that only the critical patients are being referred to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, while those with mild symptoms are being treated at the South Goa district hospital since the time the ESI hospital, Margao was shut down as a Covid hospital.
Meanwhile, sources informed that the health authorities have put to test the ICU and ITU wards being set up at the South Goa district hospital.
The ICU and ITU have around nine beds each, all equipped with the latest critical care devices. The ICU and ITU are being set up at the hospital to start critical care unit in the future.
