Six more persons succumbed to Covid-19 and the daily count of fresh Covid-19 infections dropped on Monday to 2174 as against the 3,232 reported in the 24 hours of Saturday-Sunday but the positivity rate remained above 40 per-cent with the usual weekend lull in testing.
The daily health bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services said 5,236 samples in all were tested throwing up 2,174 new positive cases. On Friday-Saturday, the total number of samples tested was 7049.
The State cumulative Covid-19 death toll is now at 3,563 and the positivity rate is at 41.52 %.
The active cases of Covid-19 in the State is at 21,957 after 1,592 having been declared "recovered".
