7 more succumb to Covid, death toll at 491; 489 new cases recorded

PANAJI
A total of seven Covid-related deaths were recorded in Goa on Friday including a 51-year-old from Fatorda with no co-morbidities, who lost his life within 9 hours of being admitted at the hospital. A total of 491 persons have succumbed to the infection in Goa so far.

While six of the deaths occurred at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim and one was recorded at Hospicio in Margao.

The other deceased persons include an 80-year-old woman from Benaulim, a 78-year-old woman from Ponda, a 73-year-old woman from Mayem, a 72-year-old man from Bardez, a 60-year-old man from Savoi-Verem and a 55-year-old woman from Sancoale. All these patients suffered from prior co-morbid conditions.

489 new Covid positive cases were recorded on Friday. With this, the active tally has risen to 4,783 and the total confirmed cases to 37,591. Of these, 32,317 patients have recovered so far.
