No let-up in Bardez, 106 new infections

Covid-19 cases continue to grow with 106 positive cases recorded in Bardez on Friday.

Among the six health centres in the taluka, Porvorim Primary Health Centre reported 35 cases, followed by Candolim PHC with 33.

In the jurisdiction of the Porvorim PHC, Penha de France recorded 17 positive cases followed by Salvador do Mundo with 16 and two in Guirim.

Health Officer at Candolim PHC, Dr Roshan Nazareth informed that 10 persons tested positive in Calangute, nine in Candolim, four each in Pilerne, Reis Magos and Nerul and one each in Saligao and Sangolda.

A total of 18 persons were infected in Mapusa urban health centre. The persons each tested positive at Mapusa detention centre, Altinho, Khorlim, Peddem, two in Gaunsavaddo and one each in Ganeshpuri, Cunchelim, Angod and Ganganagar.

Health Officer at Colvale PHC, Dr Damodar Narvenkar informed that a total four cases were recorded at the centre. Three persons tested positive in Colvale and one in Central jail.

According to the Health Officer at Siolim PHC, Dr Sadhna Shetye eight persons were infected with the virus at the centre. Three tested positive in Assagao, two each in Canca and Siolim and one in Parra.

According to the Health Officer at Aldona PHC, Dr Preetam Naik eight cases were recorded in her centre. Five persons tested positive in Aldona, two in Nachinola and one in Moira.

PANAJIA total of seven Covid-related deaths were recorded in Goa on Friday including a 51-year-old from Fatorda with no co-morbidities, who lost his life within 9 hours of being admitted at the hospital.
