There has been no letup in Covid-19 cases in Bardez as 83 new persons were infected with the virus on Tuesday. This is how the number of cases was stacked in the six primary health centres in the taluka -- Porvorim PHC (21), Candolim PHC (17), Mapusa UHC (16), Siolim PHC (11), Colvale PHC (10) and Aldona PHC (8).
Health Officer Dr Roshan Nazareth, who holds additional charge of Porvorim PHC, informed that 14 persons tested positive in Socorro, five in Penha de France and two in Salvado do Mundo.
According to Dr Nazareth, who is the Health Officer of Candolim PHC, four persons each were infected with the virus in Calangute, Pilerne and Reis Magos, three in Saligao and two in Sangolda.
In the jurisdiction of Mapusa UHC, four persons each who tested positive were from Shetya-vaddo/Peddem and Cunchelim, three each from Carrasvaddo and Khorlim and one each from Dangui Colony and Ansabhat.
In Siolim PHC, six persons tested positive in Siolim Sodiem, two each in Canca and Assagao and one from Siolim Marna.
Health Officer of Colvale PHC Dr Damodar Narvenkar informed that four persons each were infected in Colvale and Revora, one each in Central jail and Assonora.
In Aldona PHC, five persons tested positive in Ucassaim, two in Moira and one in Bastora.
