While Covid cases have been on the rise elsewhere in the State and in other parts of Mormugao Taluka, there has been a reduction in active Covid cases detected by the Vasco Urban Health Centre (UHC).
Vasco UHC had consistently been recording the highest number of Covid cases for a long time and cases declined for some time, before registered an upward swing after Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
However in the recent past, Covid cases detected at the Vasco UHC have been on a steady decline and from 370-odd active cases, the active Covid cases as per the health bulletin has dropped to 236, indicating that 77 people had successfully recovered from Covid infection in the last two days.
While Sada and Baina seem to be a major contributing factor in the Covid cases, some cases were also reported from New Vaddem.
There were a few cases reported from Mangor, the area where the first set of Covid cases were detected in the State, which had prompted authorities to declared it as the first containment zone in the State.
Meanwhile, there were 616 Covid active cases in Mormugao Taluka detected by Vasco UHC (236 cases), Cortalim PHC (273 cases) and Cansaulim PHC (107 cases).
