The Aam Aadmi Party in Canacona has powered its campaign for the Zilla Panchayat polls on the "Veez Andolan" platform to seek 24-hour uninterrupted electricity at no cost in Canacona.
AAP convened a meet at the residence of Khola ZP candidate Remy Borges in Agonda and it was attended by leaders Capt Venzy Viegas and Sandesh Telekar, Borges and his supporters.
Many unanimously demanded that the government should cater to their basic need of uninterrupted electricity at no cost.
Several others also put forth several grievances and said that the successive governments had failed in resolving those issues.
Viegas, Telekar and Borges were among those who addressed the meeting. Later, 73 people --40 men and 33 women -- voluntarily sought primary membership of the AAP.
