The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday strongly criticised the statement of Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo in which he said that inclusion of DDSSY scheme for private Covid treatment will increase the “burden” on private hospitals.
AAP leader Adv Surel Tilve said, “Former Lokayukta was apt in his remarks that Michael Lobo is unfit to be a minister. Lobo’s statement proves that he has no intentions for the welfare of common Goans. We have seen that most of the ministers took treatment in private hospitals but they are not okay if common Goans have access to the same facilities.”
AAP has been demanding the inclusion of Covid treatment in private hospitals under Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana as it will be a huge economic relief for every Goan.
“Looks like Lobo has some vested interest going by the way he welcomed the cancellation of DDSSY inclusion notification. We all know that government hospitals have a limited capacity and the need of the hour is to provide affordable treatment in private hospitals and DDSSY was a welcome step to it,” said Tilve.
“We can only wish Michael Lobo to be more vocal towards the issues of common Goans rather than corporate driven private hospitals. It is time that Lobo must become accountable to people who have voted for him. He is answerable to them,” added Tilve.
