PERNEM: Siddhi Raul was on Tuesday elected unopposed as Sarpanch of Alorna Panchayat.
The post fell vacant after Maheshwar Parab had resigned as sarpanch.
During a special meeting on Tuesday, Siddhi Raul was the lone candidate and was elected unopposed.
Deputy Sarpanch Aarti Raul and panchayat members Vinod Harijan, Ramchandra Parab, Divya Naik, Shailesh Naik and Maheshwar Parab were present at the meeting.
Later, Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar greeted Raul on her election as sarpanch and wished her all the best during her tenure.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch Siddhi Raul said she had been elected with the support of all panchayat members and thanked the Pernem MLA for his support.
