Anjuna Police book two for assault in Assagao

Anjuna Police have booked two persons allegedly for assaulting and abusing a daughter-father duo in Assagao on Sunday.

Police are on the lookout for the alleged accused “ Bravin Satradekar and Ashish Gaonkar “ who are on the run.

According to police, the accused picked up a quarrel with the victim while purchasing some gift envelopes at the shop run by the victim's family at Assagao.

The two accused abused the victims Prachi Kataria and her father Arvind Kataria with filthy words and one of the accused also damaged the glass counter of the general store.

The accused also assaulted the young lady and her father with an axe causing injuries to them, police informed.

Police further informed that the accused pushed the lady’s mother and also went to assault the brother and threatened to kill them.

Anjuna Police has registered an FIR against the two accused under Section 504, 506 (ii), 324, 323, 352, 427, 307 r/w 34 IPC.

PSI Ashish Porob is investigating further.

MAPUSAA 38-year-old Nigerian was on Sunday arrested for allegedly overstaying in India, police informed.Police said Innocent Chiukwu, who had come to India was found staying illegally at Badem, Assagao without valid travel documents thereby contravening the provisions of Foreigners Order 1948 & Foreigners Act 1946. A police team arrested the accused and further produced him before the JMFC Mapusa who remanded him to 14 days judicial custody.A case under section 7 (1)…
