Apna Ghar got a Bal Bhavan sub-centre at its premises in Merces as the same was inaugurated by Minister of Women and Child Development Vishwajeet Rane on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rane was grateful to Bal Bhavan for opening the sub-centre in Apna Ghar and assured to create facilities for overall development of children housed in the juvenile home.
Bal Bhavan Director Dayanand Chowkidar urged Apna Ghar children to put the facilities provided to good use while also explaining about the various activities of Bal Bhavan. Women and Child Development Director Deepali Naik also spoke on the occasion while Apna Ghar Deputy Director Girish Sawant informed about various activities at Apna Ghar.
The children of Apna Ghar presented a cultural programme on the occasion. Also present were Women and Child Development Deputy Director Jyoti Dessai, Superintendent cum Probation Officer of Apna Ghar Sumedha Belokar, child welfare committee members, children and staff of Bal Bhavan and Apna Ghar, and others.
