MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar on Friday made it clear that Pravin Arlekar, the MGP candidate from Pernem, would not be leaving MGP to join BJP.
"We want to put an end to rumours that are being spread by BJP once for all. Pravin Arlekar will contest election from Pernem on the ticket of MGP and will win,” said Dhavalikar while addressing a press conference.
Deepak Dhavalikar accused BJP workers of spreading rumours to tarnish the image of Arlekar. "For the last two years, he has been working in Pernem constituency. Some BJP workers are spreading rumours to tarnish his image. Arlekar has never met any BJP leaders. He will contest in Pernem constituency and with his work, he will win,” said Dhavalikar.
Dhavalikar was confident that the BJP would lose in Pernem, Mayem, Bicholim and Mandrem constituencies, while the MGP will win in these constituencies with the support of TMC.
Arlekar said his workers were disturbed when MGP formed an alliance with the TMC but he managed to explain the position to his workers.
