Challenging Quepem MLA Altone D'Costa to show even a single development project worth Rs 5 lakh in Quepem since he became MLA, BJP State President Sadanand Tanawade said all projects taking place in Quepem have been silently brought in by former Quepem MLA Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar.Addressing a gathering at the Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan Parivartan Samelan at Khola village on Sunday, Tanawade said: “Kavlekar has facilitated 15,000 sq mtrs of government land for agriculture purpose, of which three plots each of 5000 sq mtrs will be allotted for paddy cultivation, Khola Mirchi and sugarcane production.”
“Once this project is completed, the present MLA will wake up and say he has done it. Our previous MLA did not have the habit of taking credit even for works he did and he used to do it and remain silent.”
Tanawade praised Kavlekar for the development of the Quepem constituency.
“Be it roads, water supply and electricity, everything has been done by Kavlekar. The only thing done by Altone D'Costa once he got elected is that he wrote a letter to Prime Minister that Quepem needs water.”
“We dare the Quepem MLA to show us even a single file of non-plan works worth of a minimum of Rs 5 lakh he got sanctioned for Quepem, as a minimum of 4-5 months time is required. But he speaks anything and began to make baseless allegations against our ex-MLA Kavlekar.”
Tanawade went on to claim that all development in Goa over the last eight years had been because of BJP central government.
In another jibe, Tanawade dared D'Costa to name those BJP Karyakartas who had helped him during recent assembly polls.
“The Betul sarpanch and Panchas are affiliated to the BJP. The Zilla Panchayat members, Quepem councillors and 100% of the sarpanchas in Quepem constituency are with the BJP,” said Tanawade.
Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, former Quepem MLA Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, Khola Sarpanch Poorna Nayak, Kisan Morcha President and ex-MLA Vasudev Meng Gaonkar, ZPs Khushali Velip and Shanu Velip, Ex-ZP Krishna Velip and others spoke at the Samelan.
