PORVORIM
A bomb hoax triggered panic at Sai Service in Porvorim on Thursday.
Porvorim Police Inspector Neenad Deulkar said the Sai Service staff contacted the police at around 11.20 am stating that an unidentified caller had informed them that a bomb had been planted in their premises and he was serious about the threat.
A police team headed by DySP Edwin Colaso rushed to the spot and alerted other agencies including the Anti-Terrorist Squad, fire service, ambulance and 108.
The staff was asked to evacuate from the premises, and the ATS began search operations with sniffer dogs and gadgets.
“The ATS team searched the entire premises at Sai Service, and when they did not find any bomb, they allowed the staff to resume normal operations. The caller has been identified and necessary legal action will be initiated,” said PI Deulkar.
