A trip back from a cricket tournament ended in tragedy when two youth died in a road mishap at Pilye-Dharbandora late Tuesday night.
According to reports, the incident took place at about 11.15 pm, while Rajdeep Naik (30) Bicholim but residing at Usgao, Sarvesh Gaude (27) from Apevhal-Priol and Shubham Gawas (28) of Dharbandora were returning home after participating in a cricket tournament.
They were proceeding to drop Gawas at Dharbandora when the vehicle toppled and rammed into a roadside tree.
Naik died on the spot, while Gaude breathed his last while undergoing treatment at GMC hospital at Bambolim on Wednesday morning. Gawas managed to escape with minor injuries.
Ponda Police is investigating the incident.
