A 7-year-old girl lost her life in a tragic mishap, when she got entangled in a cloth swing at Nagzar-Curti in Ponda on Wednesday.
According to reports, the incident took place as the Std 1 girl from Uttar Pradesh, but residing with her family at Nagzar, had asked her elder sister to make a makeshift swing while her parents had left for work in the morning.
The elder sister made a swing from a piece of cloth and was engaged in some housework, while her 7-yr-old sister was playing on the swing.
Sometime later, the girl was found entangled to the cloth swing and had fallen down. A neighbour rushed the girl to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Ponda police conducted the panchanama and are further investigating the case.
