Goa police have registered a case on cash-for-government-job wherein one Amar Mandrekar from Sattari is being investigated for allegedly duping a Thivim resident Sangeeta Kandolkar.
According to the complainant woman, Mandrekar, posing as a Ravindra Bhavan Sanquelim employee, assured Kandolkar’s niece a government job for a payment of Rs 3 lakh.
Colvale police said the accused subsequently convinced the complainant to pay medical examination fee of Rs 20,000. However, the accused not only failed in his promise to give the job but also did not refund the money to the lady.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has time and again appealed to the people to stay away from fraudsters who seek money in exchange for government jobs. He has also asked people to report such matters to the police.
