All nine visarjan points in the jurisdiction of the Corporation of City of Panaji were decorated by CCP this year for the first time to give a new and festive look.
The spots were given a different look through the decorations and lighting and special decorative arcs were created.
There were special arrangements made to maintain minimum people at the visarjan spots this year, said Deputy Mayor Vasant Agashikar. Police were on hand during the arrangements.
Mayor Rohit Monserratte took personal interest in putting things inorder at the visarjan spots.
"This year there was no problem for people during immersion," said Agashikar.
There was an issue while immersion at the ferry point where the ferry boat operator parked the ferry on routine jetty initially without knowing that the decorations are done on the spare jetty.
Finally the Deputy Mayor intervened and the ferry operators were told to park ferries at the spots where illumination is done. Small canoes which was arranged for immersion at Patto
"I would like to thank our MLA Atanasio Monserrate, CCP Mayor, Electricity, Water resources department and Police department for their cooperation," said Agashikar.
The same arrangement will continue on the fifth day of immersion.
