Chimbel panchayat authorities conducted inspection of a housing project following a complaint of violations by the builder in which the parking area has been converted into shops.
Present for the inspection were Sarpanch Manisha Chopdekar, ward panch Chandrakant Kunkolkar, panchayat secretary Rajendra Gawas and the complainant, Jaganath Kundaikar.
However, the builder remained absent for the inspection.
Incidentally, the inspection was done more than two months after complainant Kundaikar had lodged the complaint.
Kundaikar pointed out that the area approved for parking has been converted into shops in gross violations of the approvals granted by authorities concerned.
“Now, the occupants of the building have converted the setback area for parking, which has resulted in obstruction of traffic movement along the main road,” Kundaikar informed The Goan and demanded that the permissions granted to the project be revoked immediately due to violations of the conditions.
Meanwhile, the panchayat authorities have decided to issue a notice to the builder to remain present along with relevant documents, failing which further action would be initiated.
