A 38-year-old man from Manshiwada-Colvale has been arrested on charges of possessing 1.31 kgs of ganja worth about Rs 1.6 lakh.
According to reports, a police team led by PI PSI Mandar Parab conducted a narcotic raid on Sunday sometime between 5.10 pm and to 7.20 pm near the fort at Fattirwada-Colvale and allegedly caught the accused Siddesh Naik on charges of illegally possessing 1.31 kgs of substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 1.6 lakh in the international market.
The accused was arrested under the NDPS Act and further investigation is being conducted by PSI Kunal Naik.
The Colvale police team conducted the raid under the supervision of Mapusa SDPO Mapusa Gajanan Prabhudesai and Police Inspector Vijay Chodankar and under the guidance of North Goa SP Shobit Saxena.
