The Congress in Goa has named Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) councillor Joel Andrade as president of the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress.
Indian Youth Congress national President, Srinivas BV issued the order appointing Andrade to the top post of the party's State youth wing.
Andrade was the youngest Corporator elected in the CCP elections held in March 2021 and represents the Miramar area.
Meanwhile, in another development in the Opposition party, its South Goa MP, Francisco Sardinha, has been appointed an observer for the State of Nagaland, which is among the North Eastern States due for an assembly election in 2023.
Sardinha along with former parliamentarian, J D Seelam, will oversee the party's election preparations in Nagaland.
AICC general secretary, Mukul Wasnik, meanwhile will be the 'senior observer' for Nagaland along with two other North Eastern States of Meghalaya and Tripura where polls are due in 2023.
