Congress: Gundu Rao flows out, Maneckam in as Madhei reverberates

Embarrassed by the contradictory positions of its two State units on the Mhadei issue, the Congress, which is in the Opposition both in Karnataka and Goa, quickly effected changes and eased out AICC general secretary Dinesh Gundu Rao from his responsibility of Goa.

Gundu Rao, who hails from Karnataka and has been the Congress’ State president there, has managed the party’s Goa affairs for over two years now including the Assembly elections held in February last year. Rao has been replaced with Manickam Tagore, who is a Lok Sabha MP from Tamil Nadu.
